Best 2024 Super Bowl Commercials

The most wonderful time of the year for advertisers, a.k.a. the Super Bowl, is back and better than ever. For 2023 Super Bowl commercials alone, companies paid a collective of over $600 million for their brand to be seen by viewers around the country on the big day. This year, some of the best 2024 Super Bowl commercials debuted from highly recognizable, household brands we know and love.

Here are 10 of the best 2024 Super Bowl commercials and why they are highly effective.

10. Don’t Forget Uber Eats: Uber Eats

“Don’t Forget Uber Eats” stars Jennifer Anniston, who kicks things off by stating, “In order to remember something, you’ve got to forget something else.”

What are you willing to forget to remember Uber Eats? This 2024 Super Bowl commercial features a serious lineup of celebrity cameos, including Victoria and David Beckham, David Schwimmer, and Jelly Roll–who are all struggling to remember a unique selling proposition (USP), or a distinctive element that enables them to stand out from others in their respective industries.

9. T-Mobile

Back in 2004, chart-topping songstress, Jennifer Hudson, first graced our television screens as an American Idol contestant. 20 years later, she takes center stage in this T-Mobile Super Bowl commercial disguised as an impromptu audition. T-Mobile is an American wireless network provider known for its phone services and it claims to be America’s largest and fastest 5G network.

Style, grace, and loads of personality fill up our screens, leading consumers to associate all of these positive emotions with T-Mobile’s Magenta Status. This incentive program was introduced by the brand in early 2024 and aims to offer a series of exclusive perks to its loyal customers.

8. In e.l.f. We Trust: e.l.f. Cosmetics

This hilarious e.l.f. Cosmetics commercial features the cheeky, loveable Judge Judy as Judge Beauty, who sentences actress, Gina Torres, to $14 glowy skin. In 2023, the affordable makeup and skincare brand took the world by storm with its Super Bowl commercial advertising the Power Grip Primer. Today, the product is now considered America’s #1 Face Primer.

This year, e.l.f. is promoting the latest product to try, e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter, a multipurpose complexion booster that aims to give skin a soft focus and make it filter-ready.

7. Etsy

The Super Bowl is the perfect place for Etsy to reinforce its platform’s position as the ultimate destination for thoughtful, personalized gifts. Etsy, a global online marketplace and e-commerce company, seized this opportunity to highlight its gift mode feature to the massive audience tuning in to watch America’s most beloved sport.

In the spirit of American patriotism, the brand thought it would be a clever idea to share the message by weaving in elements of American history. What’s one of the most well-known gifts America has ever received? The Statue of Liberty, of course. This 2024 Super Bowl ad reenacts the famous moment and positions its gift mode in the story as an innovative way for the United States to select a gift that France would like, to aid in this friendly exchange.

6. Mr. T in Skechers: Skechers

Skechers effectively utilizes nostalgia and humor in its 2024 Super Bowl commercial by featuring the well-known 80s wrestler and actor, Mr. T, to highlight its Hands-Free Slip-ins® technology. The ad cleverly addresses the common misspelling of “Skechers” with a ‘T’, using Mr. T’s iconic persona to reinforce brand recognition and correct the misconception.

This approach not only showcases the product’s innovative design, but also connects with a broad audience through a beloved cultural figure, enhancing brand recall and consumer engagement, or the emotional connection users develop with a brand.

5. State Farm: Like a Good Neighbaaa

When the 100-year-old American insurance company, State Farm, selects Austrian-American super actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, as its celebrity endorsement for its 2024 Super Bowl commercial, “Like a Good Neighbaaa,” it’s no surprise that it is ironically centered around his struggle to pronounce the company’s classic tagline.

The ad humorously showcases Schwarzenegger’s iconic accent repeatedly mispronouncing several words on the script, leading to on-set frustrations and culminating in a surprise appearance by his “Twins” co-star, Danny DeVito. Its strategic use of celebrity nostalgia and comedy not only reinforces State Farm’s brand identity, or the personality of the brand and how it distinguishes itself to consumers, but it also resonates with a broad audience, contributing to its recognition as one of the most memorable Super Bowl commercials of the year.

4. Totalmente: Verizon

Verizon, America’s largest wireless carrier, channels nostalgia in this 2024 Super Bowl ad starring actor, Enrique Dueñas, who is singing a new age rendition of 90s Latin Dance hit, “Suavemente” by Elvis Crespo. But instead of singing the words became, meaning to kiss me, it was replaced with llamame, meaning to call me.

By remixing the timeless Merengue classic, Verizon playfully and memorably promotes its Total by Verizon premium prepaid plan that runs on the company’s powerful 5G network.

3. The Most Borrowed Lighter: BIC EZ Reach Lighter

Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, and Martha Stewart star in this hilarious 2024 Super Bowl Commercial for BIC EZ Reach Lighter. This miscellaneous trio bonds over the benefits of using BIC Ez Reach lighters during a three-way video conference.

The essence of these BIC EZ Reach lighter commercials lies in the fact that many of us don’t believe their statements are truly referring to lighters at all. However, the irony of it all only makes them even more entertaining.

2. Hello Down There: Squarespace

Squarespace, a codeless website building and hosting company, launches one of the best 2024 Super Bowl commercials by emphasizing its product benefits impeccably and demanding our attention in a very extrinsic way. In “Hello Down There,” directed by Martin Scorsese, extraterrestrials take over our digitally-driven Earth and although the story dominates traditional media platforms, such as television, no one notices.

To effectively promote their debut, the aliens create a Squarespace website, proving you don’t have to be a human with various technical abilities to build your online presence.

1. Paramount+: Sir Patrick Throws a Hail Arnold

Paramount + creates one of the best 2024 Super Bowl commercials to promote its streaming plans, “Sir Patrick Throws a Hail Arnold,” featuring Hey Arnold and several other familiar celebrities and cartoon characters. This is the only commercial to ever exist where Patrick Stewart, Drew Barrymore, Creed, Arnold, and Peppa Pig are all in the same space. What makes this one of the best 2024 Super Bowl commercials? Patrick Stewart gives football head a whole new meaning by attempting to catapult Arnold over Paramount Mountain to aid in their escape from cold temperatures.

If you thought these commercials were memorable, just wait until next year. Stay tuned for the best 2025 Super Bowl commercials!
