Kennedy airport and noticed its latest fragrance release, I knew I had to get my hands on a bottle. Before its release, I was enamored with the Gucci Flora Gorgeous Magnolia, and every Gucci Flora fragrance under the Flora Fantasy brand had its moment as my signature scent. Would its hypnotic and vibrant yellow bottle illuminate my path to a new floral favorite?

Is Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid Eau de Parfum the fragrance for me?

As Gucci Flora’s first gourmand scent (also known as a foodie fragrance), or synthetic notes that mimic edible foods, such as chocolate, vanilla, or coffee, etc., Gorgeous Orchid smells unlike any other fragrance released under the Flora Fantasy collection.

While the Gorgeous Jasmine fragrance is known for its clean floral scent, the Gorgeous Gardenia fragrance exudes sweetness and fruity floral notes. Then there’s Gorgeous Magnolia, a smooth, sensual dewberry field that radiates sophistication.

If you’re like me and expected a floral haven to be bestowed upon you at first sniff, you will not be very impressed with Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid. However, if you are a fan of luxurious vanilla scents and ozonic fragrances, you might be quite smitten with this fragrance.

Would I recommend Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid to a friend?

Personally, I would not recommend Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid to a friend who is familiar with the Gucci Flora Fantasy collection and may be expecting something similar. If you’re wondering which fragrance you should buy, this one is an acquired taste and could be a risky purchase to present to a picky friend.

Perhaps, my love for floral fragrances may be hindering me from appreciating the uniqueness of Gorgeous Orchid, but I can’t help but feel duped by its floral packaging and blossoming yellow bottle. While its appearance screams spring florals, the scent of the Gorgeous Orchid fragrance is more reminiscent of a gelato shop. Don’t be fooled by the budding orchids on the box, as it would have been more appropriate for the brand to depict vanilla orchids or vanilla beans.
